Textbooks play a very important part in teaching.Another's good suggestions can remedy one's own defects,so the comparative researches on the international textbooks can promote the reformation of the domestic textbooks.Based on the above background, the writer of this article will make researches on the content of nucleus in the physics textbooks of senior high schools from China,America and Australia.According to the curriculum standards, this paper will make specific researches on the column setup, textbook contents, introduction, illustration, examples, exercises and colors to figure out the disadvantages of the domestic textbooks and the advantages of the foreign textbooks by analyzing their characteristics.Consequently, there can be some advisory opinions for the writing of the domestic physic textbooks in senior high schools, especially for the content about nucleus. There're four chapters in this paper. The first chapter is Introduction,in which the background of the problem and the purpose, meaning and methods of researches are introduced. The second chapter is the comparison of the program objective, the curriculum structure and the content standard of nucleus among China,America and Australia. The third part is the main part of this paper, which is the specific comparison of the textbook contents.Researches are made mainly on the column setup, textbook content, introduction, illustration, examples, exercises and color in the chapter of nucleus in physics textbooks from China,America and Australia, which reaches the following characteristics:as for the column setup, the PEP edition has a variety of columns and is flexible. The American textbooks put much attention to the experiments, while Australia textbooks have the least kinds of columns. These three counties are different in the catalogs but are similar in the knowledge points as for the textbook content, and there is also difference in the way of introducing the knowledge points. And all the counties remain the special content. The PEP edition is prominent in the national spirits in the introduction, while American textbooks pay attention to the civilians and Australian textbooks focus more on the objective leading. As for the illustrations, the number of illustrations in Australian textbooks is the largest, while the number of illustrations in American textbooks is the least, with many of which are physical illustrations. And the explanations for the illustrations are simple in the PEP edition and are specific in Australian textbooks. The PEP edition is the least in exercises part.On the contrary, the answers of exercises are specific in American textbooks and Australian textbooks have the most exercises which cover many knowledge points. As for the colors, the main color of PEP edition is cool colors with high lightness such white, purple and blue.American textbooks choose the colors with the middle lightness which are a balance of the warm and the cool.In addition,Australian textbooks favor the warm colors more. The last chapter is the conclusion, which talks about the enlightenment from the comparison among the textbooks. What's more, there are five suggestions being proposed.Firstly,we should perfect the column setup such as adding the columns of the experiments and the conclusion of the knowledge points and combining the similar column.Secondly,we should make a balance between the systematisms and variety in the textbook content.Thirdly,it should be more cohesive in the textbook content.Fourthly, the exercises should be exemplary and the quantity and types of the exercise should be improved. Finally, the color matching should be improved on the basis of the psychological principles of colors.
