With the increasing concern of the whole society, the preschool education has developed rapidly recently in our country. In the meantime, some problems, such as early childhood education "primary" and early childhood education out of children’s life,arouse the public widespread concern. Due to the love for early childhood education,Souzou Kurahashi,known as the "father of Japan’s early childhood education",devoted himself to the research on early childhood education. Combining his own practical experience and the theoretical knowledge he acquired with the advanced concepts he learned in western countries, Souzou Kurahashi formed the derivative child care and education theory, which had a great influence on the Japanese early childhood education.The theory centres on the children’s life, by providing children with a free and relaxing environment that allows them to live like children, rather than using a variety of rules to keep their body and mind in jail.At the same time, Souzou Kurahashi believes that the children have their own ability to enrich themselves, and what teachers need to do is to provide supportive guidance and help when the children can not do something with efforts and feel confused.The paper employs literature analysis and comparative analysis to introduce and analyze the derivative child care and education theory of Souzou Kurahashi in order to provide reference for the early childhood education in China.The introduction part mainly introduces the reason and significance of the study,sums up the current situation of Souzou Kurahashi’s the derivative child care and education theory and expounds the research ideas and method.The main part first introduces the forming process of Souzou Kurahashi’s the derivative child care and education theory. Secondly,explores the theoretical basis of the derivative child care and education theory from the clinical children’s psychology and child-centralism.Then introduces the contents of Souzou Kurahashi’s the derivative child care and education theory,including the two purposes: the maintenance of the nervous system and the strengthening of the body, the development of characteristics; and the implementing scheme based on the process: a principle - respecting children and "living really like children - freedom and environment- self-enrichment - enlightening guidance - induction-teaching ".Finally,based on the above analysis, the paper points out the viewpoints worthy of our reference from Souzou Kurahashi’s the derivative child care and education theory, such as "early childhood education facing life and returning to life","using games for education ","kindergarten teachers are learners and researchers" and "focusing on children’s hearts". These views are conducive to solving our current problem of early childhood education "primary" in China.
