One of the important tasks of schooling is the transfer of knowledge to students through purposeful and planned teaching activities.Modern educational psychology research shows that students' learning is not only a process of accepting knowledge,but also a process of ability formation,and also a process of assimilation of values.Based on this concept,the "Ordinary High School Biology Curriculum Standards(Experimental)" developed in 2003 regards cultivating students' biological science literacy as the core task of high school biology teaching,and it proposes that the bioscience history learning should be paid much attention.The reason is that the appearance of biology itself is a period of bioscience history,and learning these bioscience history can not only reproduce the process of knowledge discovery,reflect the scientific research ability of scientists,but also highlight the scientific thinking of scientists,which benefits cultivating students' biological science literacy.This view has been recognized by experts and scholars both at home and abroad.Many countries have clearly proposed to carry out the bioscience history teaching.Current high school biology textbooks in China involves a large amount of bioscience history,but the content is not comprehensive enough,and thus not conducive to the bioscience history teaching.Therefore,the development of more detailed contents of bioscience history is the key to prosecute the concept of the new curriculum standards and to carry out the bioscience history education.This research,Based on the concept of new curriculum standards and the educational value of bioscience history,uses the content analysis method to analyze quantitatively and qualitatively the resources of bioscience history in the present high school textbook Modern Biotechnology from the perspectives of both "personal experience of scientists" and "scientific development adventure of the subject branch".The findings show that there are a lot of bioscience history resources in the textbook,and that the research background of each topic involves a great deal of bioscience history.However,through the analysis of "personal experience of the science history",we found that details of the bioscience history in the textbook are not enough,and they are presented in a single way;the contents of bioscience history are distributed unevenly,in that there's little patriotism and frustration education resources,therefore,the educational significance is not fully exploited.Analysis of "scientific development adventure of the subject branch" shows that in the Topic One involves more detailed information,and it's less difficult to develop science history curriculum resources;whereas Topic Two and Topic Three involve such incomplete information that it's difficult to develop bioscience history resources;it's most difficult to develop bioscience history curriculum resources from Topic Five because of its much lack of information.The results of the analysis show that teachers and students have a high degree of recognition of the educational value of the bioscience history,and they also have the high demand for the resources of the bioscience history.And then from the interview,we surveyed teachers' and students' needs to the Modern Biotechnology module bioscience history resources,the results are the same as the literature analysis.According to the "Ordinary High School Biology Curriculum Standards(Experimental)",combined with the results of the demand analysis,this research screens the bioscience history resources which need developing in detail,puts forward specific recommendations of how to develop the bioscience history resources,and then prepares two course resources as a development case.The results of the study can provide ideas for the development bioscience history resources of other modules in the future,and it can also lay a foundation for the teaching of bioscience history successfully.
