Research On Competency Model Of College Counselors

This paper references on the research ideas and research methods of domestic and foreign experts and scholars,and combines with domestic scholars to study the competency of college counselors.This study investigates and analyzes the competency model of college counselors,which select 220 college counselors from 6 universities in Tianjin as the research object.This research uses the methods of literature,open questionnaire,behavior content,statistical analysis and induction,and explores the competency model of college counselors based on AMOS and SPSS.This research mainly includes three parts:The first is literature research: to study the relevant literatures on the domestic and foreign competency,draw on the research methods and research results,and to collate and analyze the research literature.In this way,the research establishes the open questionnaire survey.The second is the open questionnaire survey: the college students as the research object of open questionnaire survey,to count the characteristics of college counselors which competency they should have in the mind of the students.Through the analysis and collation,this paper gets 35 competent feature elements.Based on these competency characteristic elements and studying the relevant literatures,the paper describes the working behavior of each competency,and makes the preparation of college counselors competent force behavior questionnaire.The third is college counselor competency force behavior questionnaire: college counselors are used as the research object in the questionnaire,and to investigate the results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis.For each feature,this paper accurately defines and constructs the college counselor competency model.The study comes to the following conclusions: college counselor competency model includs five dimensions,a total of 35 competent feature elements,respectively are:Work quality: enthusiasm,fair,service and dedication,initiative,sense of responsibility,efficiency,hard work,accept the challenge,pay attention to quality,achievement oriented,and patient.Management features: teamwork,management on one's own,communication skills,executive ability,organization and coordination ability,and strain capacity.Personal characteristics: personal charm,careful,honest,rational,psychological quality,tolerance,and honesty.Students' awareness: to understand the students,respect students,observe students,psychological counseling,and care for students.Cultural quality: knowledge reserve,reflective ability,innovation consciousness,political theory quality,and learning ability.On the basis of competency model,this paper discusses the existing problems,such as recruitment,training of university counselors.
