"Literacy of Mathematics",first used in the Nine-Year Compulsory Education Full-Time Middle School Syllabus(Trial),formulated by Ministry of Education,has become one of the hottest topics for Ministry of Education.Literacy of Mathematics is an essential quality for us all.People,in the process of their social activities,accumulated their knowledge of quantitative relations and spatial forms,without which,there is no way they numerate,order,measure,or allocate.What is even worse,without it,it would even affect their level of knowledge and the society would not be developing.The focus in the current Mathematics teaching refonn is to carry out the mathematical literacy education in Mathematics teaching through out the process of compulsory education.This is an urgent task lying ahead for all Mathematics teachers in our country.This essay has conducted the research focusing on implementing Mathematical literacy education in middle-school teaching.Much emphasis was laid on the cultivation of students' core Mathematical literacy in the new curriculum reform.Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011)clearly put forward 10 essential core qualities that our middle school students should have,and in the meantime,emphasized the importance and meaning of nurturing students'Mathematical core literacy.The cultivation of students,Mathematical core literacy plays an inestimable role in their future development.Mathematics learning in middle schools is a connecting link.It is when the students' Mathematical thinking is active.So it is a key period in the development of mathematical thinking.Therefore,it is critical that we infiltrate Mathematical core literacy in middle school Mathematics class teaching.First,after researching on a great amount of related documents and materials,a deep analysis and research on basic concepts and theories related to Mathematics qualities,core qualities and Mathematics core qualities was done in this thesis.Then,in the way of questionnaire,the writer conducted a survey on 53 teachers and 200 students in four schools in Anshan city.And after going through the questionnaire investigation and the analysis,the writer had interviews with five of the teachers.Next,based on the results and analysis of the questionnaires and interviews,this essay concluded the analysis of the current situation and the influential factors of the cultivation of the core literacy in Mathematic classroom teaching in middle schools.The factors that affect the nurturing of middle school students'Mathematics core literacy mainly due to three aspects:national factors,factors of teachers and factors of students.Last but not least,based on the investigation of current cultivation of Mathematics core literacy and the analysis of the influential factors,this essay presents effective strategies for nurturing core literacy in middle school classroom Mathematics teaching,that is to follow the education reform closely,to improve the way of educational evaluation and the teaching philosophy,to promote teachers,qualities,to synchronize the curriculum reform,to enhance the teaching strategy.Meanwhile,this essay gives specific suggestions on the improvement of teaching strategy.
