| The development of after-school care service for primary school students has gone through more than twenty years since 90 s.However,the main provision of after-school care service is still from the market,such as various types of training institutions,home child-care,small tables.The after-school institution is a for-profit organization with educational nature.The operators lose their educational excellence in pursuit of profit maximization in the game of profit and cost.So that result in various problems.The purpose of this research is to reveal the problems of after-school institution and put forward effective improving measures.Further more providing assistance to relevant decision makers.The research mainly uses the literature method,the interview method and the observation method.Firstly,author summarize the achievements of previous scholars by reading plenty of literature.Secondly,author make a face-to-face interview with 7primary schools of 30 pupils as well as 20 principals and teachers of after-school institution.Author observe the teachers’ behavior for 3months at the same time.The research construct the function of after-school institution on the basic of analyzing and arranging the interview records,observation information.First,take care of the child and coordinate family education.Second,supplement and make up for school education.Third,assisting and strengthening pupils’ social education..The research reveal the following problems.First,care work is not in place.The teachers are weak in safety management awareness and also lack of communication with parents.Second,poor learning environment of after-school institution.The teachers’ learning guidance and teaching management are unscientific.Third,the curriculum of it can not meet the needs of students’ personality development.Fourth,after-school institutions unable to help students develop in an individual way..The research presents a series of countermeasures according to the above problems.First,exert the government’s function of public service.On the one hand the government should strengthen supervision and standardize hosting services of after-school institution,on the other hand intensify investment.Second,schools should assume the responsibility for after-school care.Third,establish an association of after-school institution and implement self-monitoring in it.Fourth,communities should play their education role actively and establish community care center based on their plenty of education resources.Fifth,cultivate high-quality teachers.At last,deepening the reform of quality education and ease academic load and creating a more colorful after-school activities for pupils. |
