As an important intelligent element,the ability to read is significant for the development of individuals,society and the nation.Reading as the important way to gain information and obtain knowledge for individuals,is significant for the growth and development of individuals.High-quality reading can support the progress of society and the inheritance of culture.So reading cultivation is an important part of fundamental education.In this study,we surveyed the condition of reading cultivation for the pupils on high-grade using the method of documents,observation and individual interviews,including the survey on condition of classroom teaching in reading and the condition of reading cultivation after school.At first the author collected reports and information about reading cultivation with the method of documents,and analyzed the documents in the aspects of reading cultivation goals,reading cultivation contents,reading cultivation ways,reading cultivation evaluation.Then the author surveyed the school which was used as case study with the method of observation and individual interviews.The author made an observation to each of the high-grade classes and recorded the information with the observation scheme and the voice recorder throughout the mission.,made an interview to each of the Chinese teachers on high-grade and recorded the information with the voice recorder.After the survey,the author collected and analyzed the data and information,discovered the school which was used as case study had problems,such as lack of creative thinking cultivation and a combination of knowledge in and out of class,low class participation of students.The reasons include the teacher don't know enough about reading cultivation,the difference between individual students is obvious,and so on.At last the author offered some proposals to teachers according to the findings,such as setting specific teaching goals,fully understanding the reading cultivation contents,perfecting the reading cultivation ways,building diversified reading cultivation evaluation systems.
