"Equation" is not only a key point but also a difficult point in mathematics teaching.In view of the current insufficient attention to "equation" teaching.I use a lot of research methods such as literature research,questionnaire survey,interview and so on to investigate and analyse the current situation of mathematical "equation"teaching in primary school,find out the problems existing in present primary"equation" teaching and put forward the improvement strategy.Survey samples in this study are not only from the city school—X Primary School which has a good reputation in Huai’an city of Jiangsu Province,but also from the villages and towns school in the same county—Y Primary School.Fifth-grade students of 2010 session,from six classes of these two schools,By the survey of the students of six classes and twenty maths teachers of grade 5,at the same time use the Excel spreadsheet to statistics,analyze data,I find that the main factors which influence primary "equation" teaching are as follows:(1)Teachers’ understanding of mathematical knowledge is superficial.(2)Teachers’ mathematics teaching idea is relatively old.(3)The goal of methematics teaching is slightly deviate.(4)It is difficult for students to realize the transition to algebraic thinking.Based on the above situation,The following 4 strategies are proposed:(1)Improve the quality of mathematics teachers.(2)Combine the textbook,teaching method and learning method effectively.(3)Use equation history to promote students’understanding.(4)Develop students’ thinking by infiltrating mathematical thought.To test the effectiveness of the research strategy,an experimental study on research strategy was carried out.Two parallel classes were selected from 16 classes of grade five and 2011 session in X primary school for experimental study.By analysing the questionnaire survey and related interviews on experimental research,I find that the students of experimental class are superior to the students of compared class regardless of the interest in learning Maths,mastery degree of equation or the ability of mathematical thinking.As is shown in experiment,research strategy can not only help teachers understand the nature of equations,grasp the mathematical thought of equation and desigh the teaching process in accordance with the law of students’ cognition,but also develop students’ interest in learning mathematics,help students master equation knowledge,promote the transformation of students’ thinking from arithmetic to algebra and develop students’ ability of mathematical thinking.
