In The Construction Of Regional Development Mode Of The Old City "Urban Memoryr" Protection And Research

With the advancement of the process of urbanization in China in recent years,the original urban spatial pattern could not meet people’s living needs and causes many issues,such as traffic jams,conflict between space needs per capita and small land area,soaring housing prices and increased one-way population mobility from rural areas to urban areas.Due to various pressures,cities with different sizes in China enter a period of expansion.Reconstruction of old districts and construction of new districts become the inevitable course of development of modern cities.Seen from the results of urban reconstruction in China,whether special local city memory could be maintained or not in the reconstruction of old districts becomes a problem that needs to be solved in the construction of cities across the country.With Donghe District,Baotoui City,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the research object,and from the perspective of social workers,this paper utilizes one of three methods in social work-regional development mode in community work.By the use of questionnaire,field investigation and interview to collect information,and in combination with the method in community work and the software of social statistics,it analyzes and organizes the acquired data.According to three major types of problems in the reconstruction of old districts in Baotou City,it discusses the degree of emphasis on protection of city memory given by people with different roles in the reconstruction of old districts in border areas.The whole paper consists of introduction,three chapters in the main body,conclusion,references and appendix.In the section of introduction,it mainly explains the generation cause of the concept of “city memory” and the background of the development of urban construction in China.It also elaborates the research purpose,research significance,research review at home and abroad,concept definition and research methods.In the first chapter,it mainly analyzes the current status of protection ofcity memory in Donghe District,Baotou City.Firstly,it adopts actual examples to introduce three major types of city memory in Donghe District,Baotou City;secondly,through results of investigation and research,it mainly states three kinds of work carried out in Donghe District,Baotou City in order to protect city memory.In the second chapter,it studies problems in the protection of city memory in Donghe District,Baotou City.Starting with three major problems,including conflict between commercial buildings and traditional buildings,conflict between artificial landscapes and natural landscapes,and conflict between emerging culture and regional culture,it discusses the deficiencies in the protection of city memory in current period.In the third chapter,it focuses on countermeasures and strategies carried out by social workers when they intervene in the protection of city memory.It discusses the necessity and feasibility of utilizing the regional development mode to assist urban residents in participating protection of city memory.For this purpose,the author puts forward three ways of participation: development of citizens’ own abilities,establishment of civic groups,and expansion of civil resource links among communities.In the conclusion,this paper summarizes innovative points of view in this paper.Firstly,this paper proposes that social workers cooperate with citizens,playing the major role in protection of city memory.Secondly,it utilizes professional methods in social work to help citizens improving the ability to protect city memory.Thirdly,it adopts the method of combining citizens’ individual behaviors and group behaviors to protect city memory.
