In nowadays’ life,the data which is confronted with almost every day requests people to have sufficient statistical literacy and master some capability,such as data collection,data reduction and data analysis.As an important part of maths,statistical literacy has been focused and developed by basic education in China and abroad.At the moment,many scholars have the deeper understanding and insight of the connotation and elements of statistical literacy.However,the teaching researches of statistical literacy with little empirical teaching design,most only stay in the theory stage.Therefore,it is necessary to research the statistical literacy teaching in junior middle school from the standpoint of teaching design and experiment,which can not only show the characteristics and problems of the statistical theory learning of students,but also promote the classroom teaching reform.In this paper,a experimental study of statistics teaching with the second grade from the junior middle school of Chongqing as the research object,is carried out in the new curriculum standards,which combines the theory and teaching experience of the statistics teaching proposed by the current domestic and foreign scholars.This paper has mainly taken the literature study,the experimental research method and statistical analysis.The process of researching is as follows: The selected 6 classes,a total of 240 students,are used for teaching by dividing into experimental group and comparison group.The teaching designs and teaching activities of experimental group are given by strictly according to the theories of the new curriculum standard,which focus on the training of mathematical thinking during the process of teaching activities.The teaching for comparison group is implemented through following the ideas of the home-room teacher without intervene.In the meantime,multiple sets of data collected in the experiment are disposed by using SPSS software,and the study on the evaluation of teaching effects is proceeded in terms of intellectual skills,mathematical thoughts,problem solving,emotional attitude,and so on respectively.The tests results show that the statistical literacy of the tested 6 classes presents three characteristics.First,the experimental group is more positive in the matter of statistical emotional attitude,and the comparison group is short on the emotion attitudes and values as expected,which is insensitive to the data.Secondly,for the learning of statistical literacy,the girls do better than boys,and the educational results of girls are more stable.Thirdly,statistical literacy keeps pace with the mathematic achievement of students,which means that the sutdents who get good grades are more likely to behave well in the statistics section.Finally,some relative suggestions about the instructional reform are given in this paper. |
