The Research On The Identity Of College Students Of "American Values" In American Movie Culture

Hollywood blockbusters, as the representative of the American film, are favored by Chinese college students. The "American values" in the film played a subtle role in the Chinese college students, so that the students’ acceptance of the socialist core values is affected. At present, there is a lack of research in the academic circles. This paper analyzes the background of American movies indoctrinating the "American values" to Chinese students and sorts out the typical "American values" in American movie culture. I think its main values include individualism, patriotism, democracy and the rule of law, utilitarianism, the United States standard, moral care and humanitarian, strive for progress, the pursuit of consumption, pleasure and love to the upper. The paper also investigates the current situation of college students in the United States and the identity of college students on the "American values" in the film.The positive influence and negative influence of the values of American movies on college students are discussed in the paper. The paper puts forward countermeasures from four aspects of government, media, universities and college students themselves. The paper is to improve the students’ ability of dialectical view of the American film culture and provide some useful references for the negative impact of American values on Chinese college students.
