As an important development stage in life,college life is defined as “early adulthood” by Ericson.The significant development task during this stage is to learn to establish intimate relationship and avoid loneliness.Today,love is in deed common on campus,with more than half of college students be in romantic relations.However,the lack of ability to maintain such relationship comes out along with the popularity of love on campus,resulting in high breakup rate.Various psychological problems due to love frustration have become a concern of society.How to help college students to maintain romantic relationship better is what the researcher concerns.Satir proposed a theory about communication model,classifying communication into claptrap,criticizing,super-reasonable,interrupting,and consistent models.This paper,starting from the communication of college lovers,conducted certain researches through questionnaire survey and group interview,combining relevant theories of Satir,with the results concluded as:Firstly,according to data,college lovers use more consistent communication in addition to some others,such as claptrap,super-reasonable,and interrupting models;criticizing model is the least used.Secondly,through interview analysis,it is identified that college lover communications are facing with difficulties in direct expression of feelings and needs.When communicating in inconsistent model,lovers fail to understand the implicit meaning,which will result in unfavorable communicative effects and further disappointment for oneself.Finally,with reason analysis,it is concluded that inconsistent communication can be impacted by the lack of sense of self-value,the past injury events,rule of the original family and common values in society.
