The school is the main channel and place to carry out civic education.Since modern times,civic education in Hong Kong schools has experienced colonial education period(1842-1984),transition period(1985-1996)and the new period since the handover,which makes a achievements from scratch,from bad to good and good to better.Its previous major reform and change has always been closely related to Hong Kong's major political development and social reform,showing a distinctive characteristic of the times.The current civic education in Hong Kong schools is under the guidance of the "Guidelines on Civic Education in Schools(1996)" and many other curriculum outlines from 2001 curriculum reform.Civic education in schools focuses on the use of highly educated life of interdisciplinary values education,through life events,in a full range of school-based curriculum to cultivate students' positive values and positive attitude.After years of education,students' knowledge and literacy of citizens in Hong Kong has been ranked the forefront of global.Civic education in Hong Kong schools receives attentions and achievements,it is also controversial.Especially in recent years,the concept of "one country,two systems" in Hong Kong,the practice encountered some new situations and new problems,civic education in schools is also exposed with problems,such as civic political education compared to moral education appeared decline;national education was paid attention to but powerless in;immature school-based curriculum of civic education pain;Interaction between civil society and Civic Education in Schools shows some worries,and so on.The emergence of these problems not only have the microscopic origin,history,reality,subjective and objective factors are superimposed on the deep-seated contradictions and reasons,such as long-term colonial cultural inertia in the hearts of the people of Hong Kong regression is long and tortuous;under the special situation of multiple identities coexisting caused by the complicated identity;political society of arguements in educating the next generation of concentrated outbreak,and so on.Revealing problems,analyze and solve problems is the key and difficulty in the civic education in the schools of Hong Kong.The relationship between "identity and criticism","principle and method","thought and reality" in the value orientation of the value orientation should be straightened out and solved.Under the new situation,the school civic education can only be strengthened,not weakened,can only reform and innovation,can not stop.Strengthen and improve the civic education in schools is a systematic project,should adhere to the "the course is the foundation,the extracurricular should pay more attention to,system is the guarantee”,mobilization of internal and external resources to build a joint to form a government guidance,the school's main building,social synergy development pattern.This article is follow this context,from the historical development of civic education in Hong Kong schools about,and strive to detailed combing and introducing the current school civic education system features and implementation,focuses on the analysis of current civic education in schools in the face of the new situation and new problems,the problems caused by the microscopic origin and deep-seated contradictions and reasons to think,and accordingly explore to strengthen and improve the feasible path of the civic education in schools.
