Child neglect is a common form of child injuries, which exists in all societies at all times.Childneglect, which is seriously harmful, will not only bring to the child health damage, cognitive bias, psychological trauma and behavioral abnormalities, but also threaten social harmony and stability. However, child neglect in China has been neglected, and the existing researches have focused on the medical field, urban children and have lacked theoretical perspective. But the foreign countries have made fruitful achievements, and family capital in the field of sociology has become a independent institutional perspective to investigate the relation between family and child neglect.Under the background, this research hopes "learn from others' strong points and overcome our own weak points",trying to know the situation of rural child neglect of Y town of Henan Province, and to explore the relationship of family capital and child neglect,in order to find the systematic factors affecting child neglect in the family level and then put forward targeted policy recommendations to promote the healthy growth of children. From the perspective of family capital, this study puts forward four hypotheses about the influence of family economic capital, family cultural capital and family social capital on child neglect.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 490 children aged 10-16 years in four schools in Y town,Henan province. The study uses chi square test,ANOVA and Logistic regression analysis to examine the effects of family capital on the overall child neglect and the five aspects of child neglect. The conclusion shows that: 1.The odds of the 490 rural children with 10-16 years old of Y town in Henan province being neglected is 26.3%,and the degree is 55.79.The highest neglect odds is social neglect, and the greatest neglect degree is education neglect.Children mainly suffer 1-3 aspects of neglect at the same time. There are no significant differences of neglect between children with different gender, while the younger children were more likely to be ignored.2.The influence of family capital on the overall neglect is basically the same as that of the five sub-neglect aspects. In general, family social capital and family cultural capital have a significant impact on child neglect, and family economic capital influences child neglect to a certain extent. All the direction of influence is negative.Family social capital is the most influential, and the second is family cultural capital, and family economic capital is the last.3.Specifically,the main factors affecting child neglect include: mother's occupation, parental input, neighborhood relationship and rearing style in family social capital, the reading habits and parents' educational levels in family cultural capital, and family assets in family economic capital. Some sub-neglect aspects have their own unique influencing factors. At last, the paper proposes policy recommendations according to the conclusion to reduce child neglect and then reflect on this research.
