| Education, a social activity which can be used to train talents, plays an important role in promoting the political, economic and cultural development. Education is the root of a country, and the teachers are the foundation of education. As a career, teachers shoulder much higher pressure than other occupations, and even the pressure seriously affects their life, work, physical and mental health. The occupational stress of teachers has become one of the research subjects which the social studies are concerned about. The education which is carried out to the disabled is called special education. It is both a breakthrough and a challenge in the history of education. Because of the particularity of the education object, more work burden and role complexity than school teachers, the special education teachers have to pay more efforts and patience than the ordinary teachers during their work. Meanwhile, special education is facing a lot of difficulties and problems, such as the shortage of teachers, the low quality of the school hardware facilities and even poor teaching quality of special education teachers, which brings much more pressure to special education teachers and also hinders special education’s long-term development.Based on the questionnaires and interviews to 500 special education teachers from 35 special schools in Anhui Province, this thesis mainly discusses and expounds the professional stress of special education teachers and the stress relief countermeasures by means of documentary research method, historical research, questionnaires and interviews. According to the questionnaires and interviews, we try to get a better understanding of the professional status of special education teachers, figure out their professional stress mainly results from the particularity of the education object, bad teaching surroundings and their own inelasticity, summarize the bad influences on their health, their professional career and the development of special education. We also put forward some proposals and measures to relieve their stress. On one hand, the country and government should fully realize the importance of special education and support it with better funding policies. On the other hand, the special education schools need to take positive and effective measures to improve school management system and to change the teaching evaluation models. Meanwhile, for special education teachers themselves, they need to improve their own professional skills and teaching ability and adapt to the quick changes happened in the education industry. It will be of much importance for creating the harmonious society and promoting the development of special education. |
