In recent years, preschool education has attracted more and more attention, especially the "national long-term education reform and development plan(2010-2020)" clearly put forward in 2020 to popularize pre-school education development planning objectives and strategic initiatives, the development of pre-school education has entered a new stage. At the same time, the society also puts forward higher requirements for the preschool teachers' quality and ability. The core ability of occupation is a matter in which the occupation must be comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, interdisciplinary ability, sustainable development ability of a person is necessary in the occupation career, plays an important role in students' employment and future occupation career development. Under this background, the research on the cultivation of the core competence of the vocational college students is undoubtedly of great practical significance.This paper systematically studied at home and abroad on the cultivation of the core ability of occupation the theoretical knowledge and practical experience, combined with the specific situation of preschool education in higher vocational colleges, vocational training of preschool education students occupation core competence is not only conducive to the students of preschool education professional employment competitiveness, also has a far-reaching impact on the sustainable development and the all-round development of students person, at the same time with the development trend of higher occupation education reform and the development of human resources.At the same time, through the method of successive Xi'an technician college students questionnaire and kindergarten in-service teachers, preschool education professional teachers training interview, investigation and analysis of current situation of higher vocational students majoring in preschool education occupation of core competence, and points out the existing cultivation of higher vocational students majoring in preschool education occupation's core ability mainly includes: teachers in preschool education the lack of a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the core competence of the students occupation, occupation core ability is generally relatively weak, needs to be improved. Analysis of the causes and problems are: preschool education professional personnel training target deviation, unreasonable curriculum, teaching methods are not effective, the core ability of occupation of teachers is weak and the evaluation model of the core ability of occupation is not scientific.In view of the causes of the problem, this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures: schools should clear training objectives of higher vocational students majoring in preschool education occupation of core competence, and optimize the curriculum, strengthen practice teaching, creating the campus atmosphere, changing teaching methods, strengthen the preschool education in higher vocational colleges teachers professional, reform evaluation mechanism, guarantee to cultivate higher vocational preschool the core ability of occupation education students effectively carried out.
