In such a background as activity-oriented teaching has become a major trend in China's kindergarten education,home-made-toy teaching aids have gained increasing attention for their irreplaceable role in children's growth.As an important supplement to commercial toy teaching aids,they could help teachers to make their teaching activities more timely and more targeted,highlight social cultures and green concept,and help to cut educational costs.In particular,home-made-toy teaching aids enjoy unique advantages in better serving flexible and creative activities,as well as improving teachers by more professional expertise.In a shortage of educational funds,kindergartens in rural and pastoral areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,are seriously lack of toy teaching aids.However,thanks to its special location,Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has enjoyed numerous natural resources and splendid ethnic cultural resources with long history.Thus,more attention to resources advantages,instead of economic disadvantages being paid,we can step up the progress of making and using toy teaching aids.This is a practical way to achieve a sustainable development of kindergarten education,featured with “low cost,good quality,ethnical character”This research subject is to analyze current educational situation of rural and pastoral areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,in terms of its making and usage of toy teaching aids.My research aims at figuring out the strengthens and weaknesses for future development,providing some feasible suggestions for a better way to achieve,both based on an overall picture of the present situation.I hope my research could make a difference in reducing the gap between the reality and an ideal world in terms of these toys,which are expected to be the significant tool for carrying out creative activities for children,for making full use of resources,for a sustainable development in kindergarten education.With various research methods,mainly including literature,questionnaire survey,observation,and interview,we extensively conducted many surveys,for a better command of the toy teaching aids in kindergarten in local areas,and to provide more scientific analysis.During this research,many shining points in toy teaching aids could be found for reference: the usage of daily materials in local areas;the participation of parents in making process;the emphasis of ethical cultures.While there is no room for complacency with these following problems: lower participation of children than that of teachers';loose connection between making and using toys,arising from task-oriented teaching;delay for normal classes due to excessive energy for toys making;single materials for toys,without obvious ethical and local characters;lack of opinion exchanges among teachers;low possessing rate of toys distributed to children;the imbalance between less usage and more show of the toys;lack of innovation with much imitation;the deficiency of a scientific and efficient management system for toy teaching aids.On the basis of current problems and real conditions in local areas,researchers came up with following suggestions.For educational administrations: to check the number of teachers on job,and further guarantee enough workforce responsible for toy teaching aids;to relieve teachers from extra missions,so as to spare more time and energy on toys making.For kindergarten administrators: to conduct toy-teaching-aids-related training for a higher toy-making level;to set up a specific research group for experience and resources exchanges;to promote the management system for avoiding repetitious work.For teachers: to pay attention to children's participation in toys making;to become more targeted and avoid separation between making and using toys;to consider human costs put in toys and increase toys utility;to learn to tap the natural resources in accordance with the changing seasons and the correspondent local resources;to make more efforts in integrating ethnical cultures with toys teaching aids;to achieve more innovation in toys making through numerous research and profound consideration.
