English writing teaching is both a major content and a vital means in English teaching in senior high schools.Effective writing teaching can not only develop students' writing skills,but also help them consolidate their English knowledge,and cultivate their capabilities of dealing with information autonomously and applying language.However,the current situation of English writing teaching is not very optimistic,students tend to become passive receivers and their capabilities of analyzing and solving problem are often overlooked in the teaching process.The study aims to prove the effectiveness of project-based teaching approach applied in English writing teaching in senior high school through the experimental study and tries to explore a complete teaching plan and curriculum design based on the theory of the project-based teaching approach.For the purpose of research,the author conducts an experimental study based on the theory of the project-based teaching approach in a senior high school in Shenyang in Liaoning province and selects the experimental group and control group to carry out the writing teaching experiment.At last,the results of the pre-questionnaire and the post-questionnaire are analyzed by the excel and the results of the pre-test and the post-test are explained by the SPSS 19.0.The results of the study indicate that there are obvious changes of students' attitudes in the experimental class towards English writing teaching after applying the project-based approach for three months.However,the attitudes of the students from the controlled class who applies the traditional PPP teaching method towards the situation of English writing teaching don't have significant change.Besides,through giving the pre-tests and the post-tests to the students of experimental class and the controlled class,the author finds that project-based teaching approach can improve the students' English writing ability and has a positive role for the promotion of all students' development of English achievements.This paper explores the actual situation of applying the project-based approach to English writing teaching in senior high school,which hopefully could be of enlightening significance for the improvement of the future English writing teaching and provide the beneficial reference for the majority of researchers,English teachers and English learners.
