The Research And Application Of The Gender Ambiguity Concept In The Modern Fashion Design

It’s a common phenomenon recently that gender boundaries are becoming increasingly ambiguous and the body and clothing are becoming increasingly neutral,which caused the crisis of two components division view on traditional men and women,masculinity and femininity.It challenges the two components division view on our simple thinking and blurs the boundary of men and women.The gender is not the traditional sense of gender.It reflects the evolution of people’s clothing under the multicultural background and the continuous evolution of people’s clothing aesthetics,thoughts and feelings.For the research and application of the gender ambiguity concept,the diversification of the society makes the single gender mode change and this trend of thought also provides designers with more ideas and design space.Study on gender culture is becoming more and more open while the dress is no longer external language symbol to judge gender.The appearance of gender ambiguous cultural phenomenon different from the traditional two components division view provides more possibilities for the art of costume design.Nowadays,the blurring of the gender boundary has become a cultural phenomenon all over the world.Gender ambiguity has become one of the developing trends in the field of design.This study explores the internal communication between male and female clothing in the image of gender diversity.This thesis analyzes and discusses the cause of gender ambiguity concept and studies the evolution of clothing gender ambiguity concept from the perspective of sociology.The author tries to conclude the design features and style characteristics of gender ambiguity concept in the fields of costume design through discussing various styles of clothing in the process of development.The author conducts the research from the clothing design innovation,combined with the analysis of modern creative elements and classic design,makes an objective review on the development of gender ambiguity concept in the field of fashion design with literature collection,case analysis and design methods of market research in order to provide more possibilities for the development of modern fashion design and let the ambiguity concept extend and develop better.The popularity of gender ambiguity concept in the field of fashion isnot only for the so-called ultimate pursuit of beauty,but also for the reflections of the gender consciousness and idea expression of the designers.
