| Quality is the core of higher education and improving the quality of education is the common goal and pursuit of higher education in the world.The national medium and long-term education reform and development plan outline(2010-2020)clearly put the quality of education as the central task.The traditional evaluation mode of education only focuses on university rankings,teachers and other external resources,while ignores the students’ learning process and quality,so the quality of higher education is difficult to be improved.NSSE is the effective exercise to evaluate the quality of education from the aspect of learning engagement against this background.Referring to NSSE,the study explores learning engagement in college based on school belonging from the perspective of psychology,hoping to provide advice for the research of higher education quality in China.This research takes a survey on 203 undergraduates in college T,and the purpose is to know the engagement of college students,explore the relationship between the school environment and learning engagement,as well as the role of the school belonging in this process.Firstly,this study comb the related theory on school belonging and learning engagement systematically to understand the research status.Secondly,the research puts school belonging in college as an intermediary variable to build the relationship model among school environment,school belonging and learning engagement.And research hypotheses are put forward.Then,the study takes the empirical analysis of the model and validates hypotheses by the statistic tools of SPSS and AMOS.Finally,the research gets the main conclusions according to the data analysis results:(1)The school belonging contains four dimensions: school integration,school value,peer relationship and teacher support;(2)The learning engagement contains four dimensions: level of academic challenge,active and collaborative learning,studentfaculty interaction and enriched educational experiences;(3)There’s significantly positive correlation between school belonging and learning engagement;(4)There’s significantly positive correlation between school environment and learning engagement;(5)There’s significantly positive correlation between school belonging and school environment;(6)The school belonging has a significant difference on gender,and the school belonging of girls is higher than boys;(7)The learning engagement has a significant difference on grade.Freshman has the highest score and junior gets the lowest;(8)The four dimensions of school belonging can be the predictors of learning engagement;(9)The school belonging plays partial intermediary role in the process of school environment affecting learning engagement. |
