Purpose: The purpose of our study is to investigate the professional psychological quality and the status quo of the emotional intelligence of students majoring in nursing of TCM, analyze deficiencies and defects on professional psychological quality and status quo of emotion quotient, and propose relevant cultivation tactics, which effectively improve the quality and standard of professional quality and emotional intelligence of students majoring in nursing of TCM.Method: Do the questionnaire survey on 188 students of nursing specialty of TCM.Professional psychological quality was evaluated with "college students" professional psychological quality status questionnaire and emotion quotient (EQ) was evaluated with"EQ test scale". Spss 17.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis of the results of survey results.Result: (1) In terms of character trait, career planning, professional ideal and faith,employment preparation and profession-choosing concept, there are certain deficiencies of students majoring in nursing by means of professional psychological quality survey. (2) In the aspects of employment psychology, there are lots of problems such as great employment psychological pressure and diversification on the choice of solutions of employment psychology. (3) It is also found that average score of emotional intelligence of two grade undergraduates is 61.33 points. 20 students above 80 points, accounting for 10.64%, 27 students between 70-79 points, accounting for 14.36%, 46 students between 69-60 points,accounting for 24.47% and 95 students under 60 points, accounting for 50.53%. The students'overall emotional intelligence quality is relatively low through EQ research. (4) The emotional control ability and emotional cognitive ability need to be improved for the students majoring in nursing by the analysis of classification of the status quo of the emotional intelligence.Conclusion: There are certain deficiencies on the professional psychological quality and emotion quotient (EQ) of students majoring in nursing, which provide some objective basis on the nursing students. Targeted educational cultivation should be conducted in schools in accordance with the problems on the professional psychological quality and emotion quotient to improve the students' professional psychological quality and the level of emotional intelligence, and promote the healthy development of the students.
