Secondary vocational education is directly related to students' competitive edge in job market.With the blooming of knowledge economy,being equipped with certain professional skills and career ability will effectively promote the opportunity of being employed.Different from their peers from middle school,those who graduated from secondary vocation schools are directly transitioned into the labor market.Those students experience a big jump in psychology and age.In order to better up students' future development,basic knowledge and quality are vital besides specific professional training.This paper investigated 187 students and 35 teachers in Huitong Secondary Vocational School which locates via questionnaire.It explored the overall situation and existing problems in the present secondary vocational education,as well as the reasons behind it through case study,comparative research,and documentary research method.At last,a few optimized strategies were proposed to solve the problems.According to the data,the problems attached to secondary vocational education are mainly about the following aspects: 1.The teaching goals of the cultural basis curriculum of vocational education are unclear,and the goals are far too theorizing which have great difference as well as some contradictions with professional skills.Besides,the unclear teaching goals also make it lack of guidance in teaching activities.2.The content of the curriculum is getting more and more compressed,and its design system is unreasonable.3.The teaching method is relatively backward.Traditional teaching methods have long been a mainstay,which combine less tightly with times.4.The teaching effect is not obvious.The students are out of order on the foundation courses,their learning methods and learning interest are unclear,which leads to bad teaching effect and students can't make obvious improvement on their comprehensive abilities.In this thesis,exploration and analysis were made from the angles of society,school,teachers and students.The courses involved are explored from the cognition of vocational education and cultural basis curriculum,teachers' professional qualities,teaching conditions,teaching management and students' self-awareness.Lastly,after the analysis of data,specific advice and measures were proposed towards the future development of vocational education.
