With the rapid advances in today's society, scientific and technological development, the knowledge economy era is arriving, growing competition between countries and between regions depend on the depth and breadth of scientific and technological progress. Colleges and universities which are cradles of knowledge,important places for knowledge production and scientific research, have diversified forms of scientific research organization. In addition to the scientific research cooperation inside university, one university cooperating with other universities in the same region, in different regions or in other countries is another form of university scientific research cooperation, and it has received the attention of scholars. But the study on the intercollegiate scientific research cooperation is not mature, the contents are specified and scattered.This paper uses the theory of social exchange and theory of cooperation and competition to survey what factors will affect the university teachers' multi-university scientific research; and how to promote intercollegiate scientific research cooperation and other issues from the perspectives of cost(types of partner; input- output ratio;scientific research expenses), result(non-economic income; economic income;sequence of authorship), risk(team atmosphere; team institution; knowledge sharing situation; incentive policies and measures in universities) and environment(academic rights and interests security environment; zero contribution in cooperation; academic misconduct). This thesis selects teachers in research and research-teaching position of Beijing University of Technology as a sample to carry out a questionnaire study and interviews. The results show that risk factor can mostly influence university teachers' participating intercollegiate scientific research cooperation, and the followings are:environment factor, cost factor and result factor. Finally, this paper gives suggestions on how to promote university teachers' multi-university scientific research cooperation.This dissertation is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is introduction,which discusses the basis for subject-choice, meanings of this topic, domestic and foreign research status, content of this thesis, key questions to solve, and the paper's framework. The second chapter briefly describes the basic concepts and theories. And explain the relevance between theoretical foundation and this thesis. Chapter threeuses questionnaires and interviews to carry on a empirical study of influence factors of universities teachers' intercollegiate scientific research cooperation. It studies the value of the influence factors from the perspective of cost, result, environment and risk. Chapter four rises some suggestions and countermeasures for promoting teacher's multi-university scientific research cooperation, which includes avoiding the risk of cooperation, creating a good environment, reducing costs and predicting the results from the individual level and school level based on the results of questionnaires and interviews.
