As a national game, table tennis(Pingpang) had once been popularized in the physical education of primary school. But in recent years, obvious recession and marginalization have been emerged in the table tennis education of primary school. The causation of this situation is complex. From the viewpoint that culture is accounted a mode of living, the change of table tennis education is the result of transformation of our society culture. During the course of Chinese transformation from backward agricultural society into modern industrialized society, and with the special national situation that the traditional table tennis culture finally took shape and developed. It shared the important characteristic of “ politicalization ” and “competitive sports”. The culture of modern table tennis education has become a normal day-to-day component of our lives in this modern industrialized society,“popularization”,“relaxation”and“recreation”are the three characteristics of it. As the development of Chinese reform and opening up, the multiplicate modern society has promoted the change of popularization and diversification of physical education, populace sports has become an important component of our daily lives. The table tennis education of primary school is one of those diversifications. It objectively demands the transformation of the table tennis education of primary school from competitive sports and political sports to cultural education of populace sports in modern society. In practical terms, in order to succeed the transformation of table tennis education of primary school, we must change three recognitions: one is the return to the nature of sports for table tennis education, and the second is the return to cultivation of physical quality for table tennis, and the third is the return to recognition of modern lives for table tennis. On account of the nature of national obligations in primary school education, the transformation of the primary school education culture of table tennis must be conducted from the top down, from nation to society, from society to individual, including the ideas of education and the evaluation system. Thus it requires reform and balance under the deployment of people, talents and materials.
