In this paper, teaching in traditional old-styled private schools will be reviewed in a brand new perspective. On the premise of rational analysis on excellent teaching experience of writing teaching in traditional old-styled private schools, a series of existing problems in composition teaching in contemporary primary schools exemplified by Yingcai Primary School in Haikou are analyzed and corresponding solutions are proposed combined with the reality in line with the principle of applicability and operability.In the introduction part, the reason and meaning for writing this paper will firstly be illustrated, presenting the research status on traditional old-styled private schools' writing teaching by current academic world. The author switches the thinking angle and takes“teaching in traditional old-styled private schools” and “teaching inspiration from traditional old-styled private schools” as dimensions, splitting the whole into parts. The author will extract writing teaching part from the entirety and specifically analyze it. The research gap of present academic world on this topic will be put forward, from which the point focused by the author will be introduced. Thereafter, the thought and method of thesis writing will be briefly narrated.The chapter one will sketch out the composition teaching in primary schools, including its nature and meaning as well as target and task. Then, prominent problems of composition teaching in contemporary primary schools will be concretely analyzed from classroom atmosphere, evaluation criterion, knowledge connection and teaching model four aspects with the example of Haikou Yingcai Primary School; subsequently, reasons for existing problems will be analyzed from four perspectives: the lack of writing materials, the exam-oriented education environment, the shortage of teaching communication and old-fashioned teaching idea. The existing prominent problems and their reasons will be displayed correspondingly, so as to fully and deeply understand those problems.The chapter two introduces the writing teaching in traditional schools, including defining old-styled private schools and its writing teaching. Later, from teaching principles and teaching methods these two dimensions, the advantages of writing teaching in traditional old-styled private schools will be analyzed. Combining the available literature, the author reduces the writing teaching principles in traditional old-styled private schools into four points as follows: teaching step by step steadily and surely; combining reading and writing as well as learning and thinking; integrating principles into words and connecting words withmeaning; advocating individuality and teaching students according to their aptitudes. With the presentation of teaching principles and methods, basic teaching ideas and concrete teaching methods of writing teaching part in the traditional old-styled private schools will be illustrated.In chapter three, the way of thinking with contrastive analysis is adopted. With the guidance of solutions by traditional old-styled schools on corresponding teaching problems,on the basis of several problems mentioned in the chapter one, corresponding solutions for four problems will be proposed: to open classroom and enrich materials and sources for writing; to respect individuality and establish comprehensive assessment criterion; to encourage communication for seamless joint of knowledge; to update ideas and create diverse teaching mode. On the basis of updating traditional teaching thinking, the improved methods for problems will be illustrated concretely so as to purposefully and pointedly solve exiting problems to solve the teaching problems ultimately.Get rid of the stale and bring forth the fresh; make the past serve the present. Have innovations in critical inheritance and take advantage of the ancients' wisdom to solve existing teaching problems in line with the current teaching reality.
