With the development of network information technology, multimedia technology is playing a more and more important role in digital teaching. At the same time, economic globalization has brought more attention to the English. English teaching in primary school is the basic stage of English learning, which plays an important role. Multimedia tools(Articulate storyline2) are used for English teaching in primary school, which integrate information technology and curriculum into teaching. It accords with the requirements of the new curriculum, and not only plays the dominant position of the teacher, but also reflects the students' subject status, which conforms to the modern education system.Based on the analysis of the research trends and hot spots of multimedia and English teaching at home and abroad, this paper chooses the new multimedia tool Articulate storyline2, which is applied to the English vocabulary teaching in primary schools. The main methods of study include literature analysis, educational experiment, questionnaire survey, statistical analysis and S-P table analysis. The main work of the study includes the teaching design of English vocabulary in primary school, the production of media courseware and the experimental teaching of the course. The course experiment's objects are two classes' students in four grade of Yunxi School in Nanchang, that are divided into experimental class and control class. The new media too l Articulate storyline2 is used in the experimental class and traditional methods are used in the control class. In order to obtain the feedback of teaching effect, achievement evaluation is finished before the study, and it also is done after the study; S-P Chart is used to analyze the scores of the experimental class to find clues about diagnosis of learning difficulties and the quality of test questions, which gives personalized guidance and teaching of the problems appeared in the process of teaching. It also helps rethink teaching strategy and enhance teaching efficiency. At the same time, questionnaire is designed to collect relevant data. Statistical software tool is used to analyze the investigation of teaching media. It can help know the effect that media teaching has made on learning objectives, learning motivation, learning results and so no. The paper sums up the characteristics of the media teaching on English teaching in primary school, and puts forward some constructive suggestions and countermeasures combining with the problems in the teaching process by the qualitative and quantitative analysis.This study demonstrates that the multimedia tool(Articulate storyline2) has practical application value in English Vocabulary Teaching in primary schools, and can improve the effect of English teaching. At the same time, it can also try to promote to other similar subject teaching application.
