Task-based language teaching is evolved from the communicative approach which emerged in the 1980 s. It is a teaching method with a complete theoretical system. The method emphasizes on the learning process. It introduces real language materials into the learning environment. Students could participate in the learning process through real life tasks, and then naturally acquire the ability of using the language. As frontline TCSL teachers, it is necessary to practice and apply the task-based teaching method in classrooms and discuss on it.In this paper, according to the characteristics of Thai students, the task-based teaching language method is chosen for applied teaching. It is aimed to study the method's applicability and effectiveness in improving Thai students' learning motivation and performance, according to the characteristics of Thai students.Through methods like observation, inquiry and questionnaire survey methods, the differences and characteristic of Thai students are summarized. In the process of research, the following research questions are raised: How is the task-based language teaching method compared with other methods? Is the method workable in junior high school classroom in Thailand? Whether the method could improve Thai students' learning performance and motivation? How shall teachers carry out the tasks in Thai classroom? In practical process, teachers shall continuously improve teaching methods. They shall summarize and think more proper teaching method for Thai students. They shall understand and learn how to become a better and more responsible TCSL teacher. Through review and theoretical foundation of more 30years' development and research of the task-based language teaching, they could apply the method into the Chinese teaching for students with zero or junior Chinese foundation in the 2nd Grade of Sukhothai Wittayakom School in Thailand. This paper presents the application situation of the task-based language teaching model in Thai classrooms. The paper also presents a study on the strategy of using the task-based language teaching method to improve Thai students' Chinese learning performance and motivation. In conclusion, it is hoped to improve Thai students' learning motivation and performance, and provide practical operation suggestions for future TCSL teachers to Thailand.
