Old photographs are the true records of the social developments.They provide rich historical connotation and have the distinct features of the times.The contents of old photographs are wide,and they contain rich historical information.Through old photographs,we can get the change of social history.They are not only provide precious materials for history research,but also in the history books of middle school they had become an efficient auxiliary tool of history study.As precious materials,we can see a lot of old photographs in various versions of history textbooks.But in the long-term teaching practice,the value of old photographs has been unable to fully exploit.We say that this is regrettable in middle school history teaching.The new course reform advocate that teachers should flexible use a variety of teaching methods,let more and more students participate in classroom teaching actively.Teachers can use old photographs to create a historical atmosphere,to mobilize the students’ enthusiasm and initiative.This article makes old photographs as the research object.The author analyze old photographs from the aspects of the their nature,feature,classify,classroom teaching and so on.Through the classification and examples,this article discusses the ways of using the old photographs in middle school practical class teaching,the purpose is to provide a reference to the present middle school history teaching in both theoretical and practical aspects.This article is divided into five parts:Part one: This article introduces four aspects about choosing reason,meaning,researching methods as well as the situation.Part two: The outline of old photographs.It mainly contain the conception definition,the characteristic,the classification,the photographs and so on.Part three: Mainly discusses the problems we need to pay attention when using the old photographs.It includes the selection of the photographs should be scientific,the application of the photographs should be moderate and the interpretation of the photographs should be in right place.Besides,the usage of the photographs should also combined with the teacher’s teaching characters and the need of curriculum.Part four: Combined with the necessary of each link in classroom education,via some examples the author discussed the application of old photographs.Thus to show the actual value of old photographs as an effective teaching aid in middle school history teaching.Part five: By analyzing the questionnaires,the last part tries to test the effects of using old photographs in practical teaching,and identifies the problems,and constantly improves the ways and means of using old photographs to promote the teaching of history.
