With the rapid development of computer network technology and development and usage of educational software, whether it is higher education or basic education, their teaching methods have undergone significant changes. As a knowledge tool of characterizing, inspecting, and improving knowledge, concept maps arranged various concepts and their relationships in the form of hierarchy, clearly reveals the essence of the construction of meaning, and help assist teaching multidisciplinary. Reading is an important part of teaching in middle school English teaching. How to improve the efficiency of teaching subjects, and the organic integration of modern educational technology and curriculum, explore the research of using concept maps in the reading teaching English in junior high school, and provide great valuable for junior high school students.This paper is based on learning theory Constructivism, mainly use literature research method, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis, then use concept maps making software XMind, to make experimental test for using concept maps in junior high school English reading teaching. Through questionnaires and achievement tests to the collect, process and analysis data, put fo1 rward existing problems in the process of using concept maps in English reading and countermeasures.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part is an introduction. Mainly expounds the research background, purpose, meaning, content and methods, as well as domestic and foreign research status. The second part describes the basic theories supporting the experimental teaching and definition of related concepts. The third part is experimental study of using concept maps in Junior English reading teaching; analysis situation of English learning for junior high school students; analysis target of teaching unit; make multimedia teaching plans using concept maps in teaching and design teaching of teaching experiments. The fourth part is the analysis data of experimental teaching effect. Using SPSS software to test before and after results of experimental class and control class, and analysis statistical data of questionnaire. For problems of inattention and negative attitude in teaching experiment, forward coping strategies of optimizing the teaching strategies and enriching teaching activities.In this study, the use of modern educational technology, rich English reading teaching method, attempt to improve the quality of English teaching. It is expected to provide reference for the in-depth study of the subject and application study of similar subjects.
