As one of the learning styles of the New Curriculum Reform emphasizing and advocating, cooperative learning is also the needs of the time, meanwhile, cooperative awareness and cooperative skills are the basic qualities for modern people. But under the traditional teaching mode of our country, the students can not play their main role very well and lack of awareness and skills of cooperation for a long time. Based on this, using the change of learning style of middle school students in the new course standard as the guiding ideology, and according to the school's actual situation and students' characteristics, combined with the specific content of biology, the paper made a practice research on the cooperative learning.Questionnaire, Interview, Classroom Observation and Case Study Method etc. were mainly used in the study. By means of Questionnaire, Interview and Classroom Observation, the status of middle school students' cooperative learning and teachers' cooperative teaching was researched. Then analysis was made from the teacher, student and school aspect separately accordance with the existing problems. On the basis of which, strategies about how to adopt cooperative learning were put forward, teaching cases which according with the need to the New Curriculum Reform and the characteristic of students were designed, then reflection was also made and enlightenments were obtained.The teaching practice research of half a year shows that: developing cooperative learning in biology teaching can stimulate students' learning interest, arouse the learning enthusiasm, improve cooperation awareness, enhance collective concept and improve teachers' teaching level, which is also advantageous in improving classroom teaching atmosphere and establishing a harmonious relationship between teachers and students. By reflection, the study found that there are still many problems in cooperative learning: for instance, large class capacity goes against the management of cooperative learning classroom; degree of students participation isn't balanced; communication between cooperative groups are lack, for teachers, emergency ability and skills are lack, etc. Then on the basis of the reason analysis of the problems, corresponding suggestions to developing cooperative learning were put forward so as to be useful for further investigation.
