| The extracurricular sports activity is not only an important part of school physical education, but also the extension and supplement of P.E. class. Middle school stage is a crucial time of physical development for students. Effective exercise can lay a solid foundation for students’ bodies, ease the pressure of learning, promote students’ physical and mental development, also,it is the premise of students to enter the society to participate in the competition, to enjoy life and realize the value of life.Our government attaches great importance into physical exercises of middle school students. May 7, 2007, " Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Strengthening the Youth Sports to Enhance the Physical Fitness of Young People " issued by the CPC Central Committee and State Council. Subsequent, the Ministry of Education, the State Sports General Administration, the CYL Central Committee jointly issued and demanded the " Notice on Developing the Sunshine Sports of Hundreds of Millions of Students across the Country ", and required the implementation of the slogan: "exercise one hour a day, healthy work and learn fifty years,enjoy a happy lifetime." So, to a large extent, the implementation of school extracurricular sports activity determines the students’ physical health.This paper investigate and analyze the current situation of extracurricular sports activities in Luohe junior high schools through literature, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics and logical analysis. Which is found that morning exercises, calisthenics and after class sports activities are main forms of extracurricular sports activities in Luohe junior high school.The development situation of morning exercises and calisthenics is not optimistic,the difference between the school is very big;There is a certain gap between the time and frequency of exercise with the standard of "exercise one hour a day", and exercise intensity is relatively reasonable;Students’ extracurricular sporting venue are mainly school grounds and the open spaces near home community, the main partners are their classmates who have same interests,Middle school students’ most consumer items are sports equipment, apparel and footwear,and a considerable students hardly consume any sports products, the schools which have a good situation of extracurricular sports activities is also have a higher sports consumption; The main motivation for students to participate in extracurricular sports activity in turn is, to improve physical fitness, meet the demands of school, and personal interests; The attitude of students to participate in extracurricular sports activities overall is relatively clear, and there are 42.2% middle school students actively participate in extracurricular sports activities, and 42.2% students participate in sports depend on the physical condition and mood; More than 80% of students participating in extracurricular sports activities feel relaxed, most students do not actively participate in activities feel less happy in sports; The students and teachers recognize the lack of exercise equipment, space and the pressure of learning as the most important impeding factors; In addition, students believe that physiological disorders and single sports activity projects is the main factor that influence students to participate in sports activities, teachers think that worrying about students injured by accidents and poor awareness of sports activities effect on carrying out activities; Student extracurricular sports demand almost has been met, the difference between schools is big. The following recommendations for the problem of conclusion: First, schools should strengthen the importance of extracurricular sports activities, work actively and strengthen supervision. Second, by increasing the mandatory school exercises to increase students’ exercise time. Third, the school sports venues and sports equipment should be repaired and updated timely, at noon and in the afternoon to arrange the teacher on duty to regulate the problem of insufficient space to provide students the sports equipment that do not occupy space. Fourth, for the problem which is study pressure, no time to exercise, requiring schools to guide students to exercise, parents’ support and students’ self-regulation. Fifth, establish the small interest clubs, and provide after-class guidance by the teacher. Sixth, the culture of physical exercise awareness need the PE teachers’ attention and education, in addition to this, set some students who have good grades and like sports as an example, an model of the effect is significantly better for students. It goes without saying the importance of extracurricular sports activities, and good exercise habits for students are life-long benefits. This article aims to arouse attention among schools, parents and the community for high school students extracurricular sports activities, with the correct approaches to the promotion of the growth of children. |
