| Chemical calculation is an important part in senior high school chemistry. The development of chemical calculation ability can help students to understand compounds and its chemical changes regularity in terms of quantity, thereby promoting chemistry and other courses learning. According to requirements of the new chemistry curriculum standards and quality, capacity-building and development, construction of the calculation ability structure of inorganic chemistry and scientific evaluation on senior high school students can not only understand the development level and influencing factors on students’ calculation ability of inorganic chemistry but also optimize teachers’ teaching strategies of inorganic chemistry, and improve teachers teaching ability and level.Evaluation indexes systerm is constructed by using operationalization of concepts based on cognition process from knowledge, understanding to application. In this systerm, there are three first-level indexes, which are the“concept memorizing ability”, “scientific thinking ability”, “comprehensive application ability”and nine secondary level indexes, which are the “memorizing ability of chemical meter”, “memorizing ability of application conditions of meter formula”, “memorizing ability of quantity relationship in chemical equation”, “ability to solve multi step reaction test”, “ability to choose the best method of solving the problem flexibly”, “ability of solving pictures”, “ability of subject integration”, “application ability in experiment”, “application ability in social life”. According to the indexes systerm, establish two evaluation tools, which are " senior high school students calculation ability of inorganic chemistry test" and "senior high school students learning of inorganic chemistry calculation questionnaire", and select a large sample of 436 students to have the test and the questionnaire through the method of stratified and cluster sampling in Guangdong Zhong Yuan Senior High School and The Affiliated Dong Jiang Senior High School of Guangzhou University.The quality evaluation results of evaluation tools are given here: the split half reliability of the “senior high school students calculation ability of inorganic chemistry test” is 0.66, and its criterion related validity is 0.69; average difficult points is 0.48; average division is 0.48. The alpha reliability of the “senior high school students learning of inorganic chemistry calculation questionnaire” is 0.74, and there is a significant correlation between the scores of the questions and the total score of the questionnaire at a 0.01 confidence level, so we believe that the questionnaire has higher content validity. Both the evaluation tools have higher quality.The statistical analyze results of evaluation data are given here: the average level of the calculation ability of inorganic chemistry is 31.39. Students reach the memorizing level and application level basically, while there is a good space to promotion in the thinking level. In Guangdong Zhong Yuan Senior High School, students application level and thinking level above average level, and memorizing level needs to be improved. In The Affiliated Dong Jiang Senior High School of Guangzhou University, students memorizing level above average level, and application level and thinking level need to be improved. About the calculation ability of inorganic chemistry, at a 0.05 confidence level, there is significant difference between Guangdong Zhong Yuan Senior High School students and The Affiliated Dong Jiang Senior High School of Guangzhou University students; there is significant difference between boys and girls; there isn’t significant difference between the urban junior school students and rural junior school students. It’s not the same that different group(different school, different gender, different learning level) students key points and difficult points which are responsed to in the first-level indexes and secondary level indexes of the calculation ability of inorganic chemistry. The excellent students’ attitude is more positive in the study of inorganic chemistry calculation. Learning interest is the main influencing factor on the study of inorganic chemistry calculation. Students spend less time in the study of inorganic chemistry calculation. About the learning conditions of inorganic chemistry calculation, at a 0.05 confidence level, there is significant difference between Guangdong Zhong Yuan Senior High School students and The Affiliated Dong Jiang Senior High School of Guangzhou University students; there isn’t significant difference between boys and girls; there is significant difference among excellent students, moderate students and students with learning difficulties. Students who scored higher in the test of inorganic chemistry calculation also had a higher score in the questionnaire, and it indicates that positive learning attitude can improve the calculation ability of inorganic chemistry.Some teaching suggestions about calculation ability of inorganic chemistry in senior high school are given here: constructing methodology of evaluation and using widely; orientating students ability level; attaching importance to the cultivation of scientific thinking ability; strengthening communication and learning between school; stratified teaching aims at excellent students, moderate students and students with learning difficulties; stimulating students’ interest in the study of inorganic chemistry calculation; increasing the time for students to study inorganic chemistry calculation. |
