Children as Researcher is a kind of practical activity which indicates that the children, as the member of the society, consciously master and adopt the appropriate research methods in participating or leading the research project, and actively construct the social life, from which they strive for their rights. In the Children as Researcher practical activity, how to make the adults who are involved in the activity not only empower the rights to the children, but also appropriately indicate the children taking part in and leading the project becomes one of the concerns. Therefore, according to study the role of preschool teacher in the activity of Children as Researcher, the research not only helps the preschool teacher deepen their understanding and cognition of the roles that they play, but also helps the teacher study and explore the new roles that the activity will give.Ten teachers of five classes in X kindergarten were chosen as the objects of the study. All of the ten teachers participated in the activity of Children as Researcher. In the guidance of the teacher, the children have finished the five stages that research needs. The stages are as followed: the confirmation of the research question, the preparation of the research, the collection of the material, the analyzation of the material and the review and demonstration of the research. By virtue of the grounded theory, the research analyze the performance of teachers in the five stages, and then study the roles of teachers. The study shows that the teachers have played 3 main roles in the activity of Children as Researcher. They are conceptional role, practical role and reflective role. The teachers' conceptional role was formed by communicating with other related social groups. Therefor, in actual activity, the teachers' conceptional role was formed by analyzing the relationships between the teacher and study teacher, the teacher and child,the teacher and parent,the teacher and teacher. The practical roles were derived from the actual activity, in which teacher have played five roles. They are director, observer, cooperator, learner and explorer. The director, observer and cooperator are the basic roles in the activity of Children as researcher, while the learner and explorer are the special roles. The reflective role was divided into the reflection for contents and processes. The 3 main roles related to each other. The reflective role is the nuclear role, which connected to the conceptional role and the practical role. According to the reflective role, the conceptional role can be applied to the practical role and vise versa.In the future, the role of teacher will desalt,the teacher not only need to accept the cultural values that the children will create, but also need to give supports to children in all the aspects of the children's development.
