With China’s participation in the gradually deepening globalization, the construction in the various fields in society requires the college students of the comprehensive ability. In order to adapt to social development, higher education in China has been actively reformed. The innovation of education mode and concept makes comprehensive self-development education of the college students gain more and more popularity. In college students’ all-round development education, self-education of college students has attracted widespread and extensive attention. College students shift from passively received education towards initiative and independent learning, known as self-education. In fact, this change is an important exploration direction of the current all-round development education in universities. From the current status quo of view, the self-education of college students has obtained certain achievements. However, problems still exist during the development, requiring further analysis and putting forward effective measures to manage the difficulties, which can in turn promote the development of college students’ self-education.This thesis, first of all, has introduced the connotation, characteristics and content of all-round development of and self-education of college students. Besides, the vital significance of self-education has been emphasized in the allround development education of college students. Secondly, this paper comprehensively analyzes the problems existed in self-education of all-round development education, including the lack of continuity in self study, weak theoretical foundations, the lack of self control and moral constraints, poor ability of self-adaptation, etc.. What’s more, based on the analysis of the reasons of the problems, four factors have been presented, including the society, school, family and oneself. Finally, under the circumstance of all-round development education, the strategy of college students’ self-education has been put forward. According to the research, in order to strengthen the overall success of college students’ all-round development education, the correct and valid guiding ideology and principles of education should be adhered to, including the principle of the combination of hierarchy and universality, the principle of the combination of ideal and practical education, the principle of the combination of short-term and long-term goals, and the principle of the combination of generality and personality education. The aim of the college students’ all-round development education has been presented. Both the binding and developmental self-education should be strengthened in order to improve college students’ selfeducation ability. Besides, the educatees need to fulfill oneself during selfeducation. Develop self-education through the advantages of school education system; develop self-education under the perspective of all-round development. Guide college students so that they could devote themself to the social practice. Combine with the current social environment and implement the five aspects of self-education. Put forward effective approach to develop self-education in allround development education. Therefore, ideas are contributed and efforts are exerted during the overall all-round development education and the selfeducation of college students.
