Interest is the psychological tendency to explore or to engage in some activities, which is attracted by scholars of education and psychology. In the field of learning, it is common that the interest is the best teacher. Because only accomplished by interest, learning motivation will endure. It's possible to improve learning efficiency. Learning interest plays more significant role in English learning. At present, there are some same problems in middle school especially in rural areas. But with the influence of exam-oriented education, there are still some same problems in rural areas. Many rural English teachers who are still centered always ignore the dominant position of the students in learning. The single teaching methods and the unskilled utilization of teaching media and other means can not mobilize students' interest. Therefore it's difficult for students to possess the positive emotional experience in English learning. Due to the lack of interest in English, some students even become tired of learning English, which influence student's learning achievement directly. So that the ability and quality of English learning can hardly be improved. The factors that affect the interest of learning are very complex, such as regional and individual differences. However, what are the main factors that affect the students' learning interest in rural areas?Based on this, the author discusses the current situation and influence factors of English learning interest in rural middle school. The purpose of the study is to diagnose the existing problems of the rural middle school students. The main problem of this study is to find out the main factors that affect the rural middle school students' interest in English learning and the impact on the student's interest in English learning. This study mainly surveys 9 classes of 3 grades, a total of 267 students of the firs junior middle school in Wulatezhongqi of Inner Mongolia with survey method and questionnaire and interview tools. Meanwhile, 7 junior middle school English teachers and 17 students are interviewed. The main methods of analysis include reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis.The result of statistics shows that recently students in rural areas are interested in learning English but the degree of interest is not very high. In the test of differences of students' interest in learning English, interest level of female is higher than the male's. The highest interest is grade one, and then is grade three, and the last is grade two. In fact, there is no significant difference in learning English interest among students of different grades. In the induction of factors which affect the English learning interest, the extent of influence from high to low is the personal factors, teacher factors, learning environmental factors, family factors and the content of the teaching material. According to the results, the four aspects of personal factors, school education, family education and social background can explain why the learning interest is not very high and analyze various factors that affect English learning interest through the interview.
