Writing is a communicative ability to write and convey messages.As a productive skill,it plays an important part in English teaching and learning,and its significance has attracted great attention.The new English Curriculum Standard for senior middle schools holds that fostering writing ability is one of the aims of English teaching.However,the present state of writing teaching is not optimistic.It is a general phenomenon that many students lose interest in writing and are not able to improve their writing ability.Teachers also think that the result of writing teaching is far from satisfaction.It has been a commonly focused problem of scholars both at home and abroad to explore and establish a new writing teaching method.Zone of Proximal Development and Mediated Learning Experience provide the theoretical basis for this thesis.Taking senior English writing teaching as the research problem,this study aims to test the hypotheses that the application of Dynamic Assessment in writing teaching can enhance the senior middle school students’ English writing ability and writing interest.This research integrates the researches on the application of Dynamic Assessment in writing teaching made at home and abroad,and carries out the instruction experiment.The subjects of the experiment are the students from two classes of Grade 1 in a senior middle school of Shijiazhuang City.This study develops an experiment based on the Dynamic Assessment for one semester in the experimental class.The author analyzes the collected data and the result shows that the writing result of the experimental class which has been taught with Dynamic Assessment is better than that of the control class.Through literature review,questionnaire and experiment,it can be summarized that the application of Dynamic Assessment in English teaching is effective in improving writing ability and cultivating students’ interest and confidence.This study provides more options for the reform of teaching method and teaching assessment system,and contributes to the application of Zone of Proximal Development and Mediated Learning Experience to writing assessment.
