Nowadays, with more fierce competition, the demand for human resources is becoming more and more diversified, so a qualified person cannot just only rely on IQ to suit the fast-developing society. He must have a high EQ besides good professional knowledge and techniques. Till now, in our country, EQ theory has been imported from abroad for about 20 years, hence most researches on EQ at home still stay in a starting level, which is not mature, and the researches on how to cultivate and improve students' EQ are limited. As is known to all, EQ is an important aspect of a person, and the cultivation of EQ has caused wide attention among different social sectors at home and abroad. So it is indispensable to cultivate college students' emotional intelligence. Therefore, based on a comprehensive summary of the related literature at home and abroad, adopting the methods of literature analysis and survey procedure, this study mainly develops a more in-depth and systematic research on the current situation of our college students' EQ and that of their EQ cultivation from the colleges. On the basis of the proposed improvement, four principles and specific strategies about how to cultivate and improve the college students' EQ are put forward, aiming to contribute a little to cultivation and improvement of our college students' EQ.This thesis mainly consists of three parts: the introduction, the main body and the conclusion.The first part mainly introduces the research reasons, and summarizes the related researches about EQ and EQ cultivation. Besides, it expounds the research objectives and significance, the research train of thoughts and methods, and the research key points and difficulties. And it also defines the related core concepts about this research.The second part is the core of this study, composed of five chapters. First, it concretely expounds the characteristics of high EQ and the main influential factors of EQ. Second, from philosophical and psychological point of view, it analyzes the related theoretical basis about college students' EQ cultivation. Third, it puts forward five constructive components of college students' EQ cultivation. Fourth, it investigates the current situation of our college students' EQ and that of their EQ cultivation from the colleges, finding out the existing problems and their causes. At last, it explores the specific principles and strategies of college students' EQ cultivation from the perspective of college, proposing that under the guidance of four principles, colleges should take measures from six aspects to cultivate and improve the students' EQ.The conclusion part gives a summary and a proposal of follow-up study.
