Analysis On College Students' Engineering Practice Abilities At Higher Education In Chemical Engineering

The higher education of engineering is large but not strong in China, so the cry of enhancing the quality of engineering education is hot. Similarly, although with high development speed and value, the circumstances of our chemical industry is still at a disadvantage of large import, great dependence, serious pollution and low profits. Therefore, it is urgent to foster qualified chemical engineerThis paper, from the perspective of engineer philosophy, combined with the project of chemical engineering characteristics, analyzes the chemical engineering practice ability of the connotation, characteristics, essential factors and influencing factors. Chemical engineering practice ability refers to put the knowledge into the engineering practice of chemical production, design, management and marketing, and consider comprehensively many factors concerning the environmental, economic, legal, and cultural aspect, and the ability of providing the society with chemical products. It includes engineering knowledge, engineering thought, engineering practice skills, engineering innovation quality, engineering ethics and social responsibility. It is divided into two types: engineering basic practice ability and engineering innovation practice ability, which is influenced by the innate individual characteristics, the environmental education and the subjective factors of person. In view of the weakness of the current college students' chemical engineering practice ability, it summarizes three aspects of the problem, including the present situation of the defect of the engineering practice ability elements, and chemical professional college students' unreasonable knowledge structure and ability structure, and analyzes the root of the problem:the inaccurate orientation of chemical industry personnel, the backward practice teaching, the obvious problems in teaching content level, and the undesirable students' quality. At last, in the perspective of constructivism on teaching target system, content system, support security system, supervision and evaluation system, and professional certification system, this paper suggests to construct engineering practice of college students' ability training system.Engineering practice ability is necessary, the most important, most basic ability for engineering and technical personnel. It is also the core of the higher chemical education. The research of higher education college students' chemical engineering practice ability and its training system has important practical significance for fostering chemical talents to meet the need of our chemical industries, and prompting the technical innovation of chemical industry. This study also has a certain theoretical value for enriching and deepening the STS research and STS education.
