Analysis Of Gansu Local Government’s Crisis Communication In Social Media Era

At present,China is in the critical period of social transformation,various social contradictions and sensitive issues frequently,the government is facing more and more crisis pressure.At the same time,the social media era,the information complex and rapid transmission,increased the probability of crisis events.Once some government crises occur,it is easy to ferment quickly through social media and develop into national and global events that put the government in a passive position.Therefore,how to adapt to the social media era,effectively enhance the Government’s crisis communication and response ability and level,it is particularly important.Combs ’ crisis communication coping theory-Situational Crisis communication Theory(SCCT)is one of the most influential theories in the field of crisis communication.However,this theory is based on the western social and cultural background of the preset,a major solution to the Enterprise Crisis Communication management strategy.In the face of China’s special political system,political culture,media environment and other factors,whether this theory is applicable,how to play a better role still need us to carry out research.Taking SCCT as the theoretical basis and analytical framework,this paper analyzes and contrasts the government crisis response of "4 11 Lanzhou water pollution" incident and "8 7 Wen County Flash floods debris flow" incident.The study found that the "4 11 Lanzhou water pollution" incident,due to the government’s improper response,resulting in the crisis through micro-Bo and other platforms widely disseminated,continued to ferment on the internet and aroused netizens hot discussion,and deepen the crisis-the government was criticized by the people and the media,the government image is seriously threatened "Wen County 8 7 flash floods debris flow" incident,because the government with micro-credit and other social media channels to timely release relevant information to facilitate the public timely understanding of the latest progress of the disaster,so that its overall by the people and the media acclaim.The research also found that under the special context of the crisis communication of the grassroots government,SCCT deeply influenced by the political system,political culture and media technology environment of Chinese characteristics,which showed that the crisis types were difficult to divide,the crisis situation was difficult to identify,the communication strategy should be ineffective,the communication effect was difficult to detect So that SCCT can not fully conform to its original theoretical assumptions.Therefore,although SCCT can be regarded as the reference theory of Chinese government crisis communication,it has some enlightening and referential significance,but it can’t be used completely.SCCT must combine the reality of China,further develop its theory in the cross-cultural context of the new media era,and really complete the "China" of theoretical research to better solve the special problems of the Chinese government’s crisis communication.
