In recent years,extreme weather has become more frequent with global climate change.The issue of global environmental governance has increasingly become the focus of attention of the international community.There is evidence that the environmental conditions in Antarctica are an important factor influencing global climate change.In the process of global environmental governance,the issue of environmental governance in Antarctica is particularly important.As the range of human activities in the Antarctic region continues to expand and its capabilities continue to increase,the problem of environmental pollution and over-exploitation of resources in Antarctica is increasingly serious.Due to the huge commercial value of the Antarctic biological resources,it has led to the development of various countries,resulting in great destruction of biological resources in Antarctica.The establishment of an Antarctic marine protected area as an effective means of protecting marine living resources plays an important role in protecting the Antarctic ecological environment.With the establishment of the Rose Sea Marine Reserve in December 2017,the establishment of the Antarctic Marine Protected Area will usher in a new era.Although new marine protected areas have been established,the controversy surrounding the construction of marine protected areas has not stopped.Countries have different views on marine protected areas.Although the Antarctic Treaty has frozen the territorial claims of countries,with the continuous expansion of human activities in Antarctica and the complications of Antarctic affairs,some countries have attempted to claim the Antarctic sovereignty in a disguised manner through the protection of the Antarctic environment,To expand their interests in the Antarctic region.The establishment of the Antarctic Marine Protected Areas may become a way for countries to compete for the rights of Antarctica.As the largest developing country in the world,China should actively participate in Antarctic affairs,play its role in the international governance of Antarctica,and maintain the stability of the Antarctic Treaty System.In the process of the construction of Antarctic Marine Protected Areas,China should actively participate in it and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with other countries so that the development of Antarctic Marine Protected Areas can be more equitable and harmonious.
