Virtual reality is a comprehensive technology which takes the human-computer interaction technology as the core, and combined with high-tech achievements of multi-field technologies. It is a more natural and intelligent way which can improve the user experience and efficiency of human-computer interaction.Since 2016,driven by well-known enterprises at home and abroad, the field of virtual reality has become one of the focus of innovation and entrepreneurship.Patent analysis is a kind of objective evaluation method which is helpful to uncover technological trends and industry layout. It is also helpful to improve the research and development level and the business offensive and defensive strategies.A review of the empirical study of patent analysis shows that there is a lack of comprehensive and in-depth patent analysis of virtual reality technology.Human-computer interaction(HCI)technology is an important part of virtual reality technology.Through the analysis of literature about human-computer interaction technology, the evolution path and the recent research hotspots of the technology is found.A total of 4149 patent data of three important HCI technologies in the field of virtual reality technology were obtained.By analyzing the change of patent application in virtual reality interaction technology and its key areas,it is found that virtual reality interactive technology is in the stage of rapid development. The interaction based on computer vision is the hotspot in this field, and it involves digital data processing technology. In the global patent layout, the United States and China have the largest number of published patents related, the United States and Japanese enterprises,Chinese institutions have the largest number of patent applications. In the analysis of the patent activities of each subject,it is found that the enterprise is the main subject of the patent activity, and the large enterprises that have the larger the number of active years is more inclined to adopt the patent distribution strategy of acquiring the patent;Combined with patent citations, applications and other indicators,it is found that the subjects that have more patent applications pay more attention to the subsequent protection and sustainable development of patent technology, while the subjects whose patent quality are higher are short of this;By establishing the patent citation network among subjects,it is found that the subjects who have the strong relationship between eachother have a closer cooperation or direct competition;By establishing common technology network based on patent classification number statistically, each subject’s patent layout in different technical areas and competition or cooperation between the subjects are concluded. Finally,it analyzes the situation of patent competition in China and the general situation of the subjects’ patent activities in China, including the constituent types of each subject, the trend of patent application, the quality of patents, the law state of patents, the layout of technical field and so on.For China’s patent layout in the field of virtual reality interactive technology,it is necessary to pay attention to the current hot areas, but also do pointed patent layout of other areas to form our own characteristics. All kinds of subjects should pay attention to the continuous development of technology and regional offensive and defensive layout, meanwhile they should improve the quality of patent writing and play a protective role of the patent system.Enterprises should strengthen cooperation with institutions and research subjects to promote patent activities’ transition from the current research-oriented to the application-oriented in China to adapt to the competitive situation dominated by domestic and foreign enterprises.
