Study On The Significant Contributions Of Deng Xiaoping To Mao Zedong Thought (1976-1978)

The three years,from 1976 to 1978,witnessed an important transition period in which both dangers and opportunities existed in the cause of Chinese socialism and the development of Mao Zedong thought.As a matter of fact,the most tumultuous period of the guiding ideology of the socialism fell on the three years after the founding of new China,and the socialist cause of China reached a crossroad where it was necessary to make a difficult choice.However,Deng Xiaoping made great contributions to Mao Zedong Thought in that period.For one thing,Deng Xiaoping cleared away the obstacles in the ideological struggle against "the two whatever"(we were firmly committed to whatever decisions made by Chairman Mao;we were unswerving to follow whatever instructions made by Chairman Mao)and "the total denial"(totally negate Mao Zedong and Mao Zedong Thought)and boldly put forward to understand and adhere to Mao Zedong thought completely and accurately,and consolidate the guiding position of Mao Zedong thought actively.For another,Deng Xiaoping also enriched and developed the system of Mao Zedong thought in fields of the party’s ideological line,economic thought,political thought,diplomatic thought and self construction of the party through summarizing new situations,new problems and new experience.Deng Xiaoping saved the critical situation and held high the great banner of Mao Zedong thought in the transition period,leaving us four precious historical experience:We should unremittingly adhere to the ideological line of seeking truth from facts;we should correctly handle the relationship between leaders and the party;we should properly handle the relationship between persistence and development in the process of Marxism with Chinese characteristics;we should accurately handle the dialectical relationship among history,reality and the future.
