Research On Elderly Parents Who Lose The Only Child And Their Pension Problems In City

In recent years,the number of one child has been gradually increased,so as the number of accidental death of them.Therefore,a large number of elderly people who lose their only child also come into our field of vision.It's not difficult to infer that they are about to face the dilemma of “no one providing for them after their only child dies”.By investing 16 aged and bereaved one-child people of Shidu Lianxin Family in Wuhan,the author sorts out and summarizes the pension problems of aged people who lose their only child,and makes some suggestions.This paper focuses on the pension problems of aged and bereaved one-child people and then summarizes two main pension ways: home care and institutional care.From the point of view of income,bereaved one-child people who retire from public institutions have a fixed pension income to meet basic living expenses.While some with poor economic conditions need the assistance of government and relatives.It's easy to see that economic conditions play a decisive role in the pension.From the perspective of maintenance environment,most bereaved one-child people at home can take care of themselves,while those in pension institutions are different in that they more or less have difficulty with daily life and self-care.In the aspect of mental state,most bereaved one-child people suffer a heavy psychological blow,having the tendency of low self-esteem and depression.With the passage of time and outside help,some of them have gradually improved their mental state.In terms of social assistance environment,good social relationship plays a great supporting role in the maintenance environment.By analyzing these five aspects,the author summarizes four major problems of aged and bereaved one-child people in cities.They are: a limited help with daily life,a lack of care during illness,no affordability of medical costs,nothing to do during leisure time,having less companies during spiritual emptiness and no one being responsible for their dying matters.In conclusion,the author from his own understanding makes some suggestions in three aspects of government,civil and bereaved one-child people themselves.The author analysis five of models of supporting the parents and the best way to solve this problems are supporting the parents by each other or arranging them in the agencies.
