The Effect Of NigerianTerroeist Organization "BokoHaram" On The Regional Security In Western Africa

Boko Haram is an Islamic extremist group in Nigeria. It develops rapidly in recent years, and has brought a plenty of bad effects on regional security of Western Africa. At present, in order to keep the regional security of Western Africa, the prevention to Boko Haram is the top priority. Although the government in Western Africa has paid an increasing attention to Boko Haram, and they're also actively seeking cooperation on hitting it, the terrorism Boko Haram is becoming increasingly fierce, even up to the international level, seriously endanger world peace and security.Boko Haram has a close connection with Al-Qaeda and IS, it gets support on money, weapon and trainning techonology from them.But it has its own characteristics, such as a strong sense of sect, behavior of the secretive and informality, and the means of violent, etc. Boko Haram caused huge loss of lives and property, great panic and insecurity in Nigeria. It has impacted on the traditional social order, and has affected the national security on politics, economy and diplomacy. Moreover, Boko Haram probably set an example to other extremist group in Western Africa.Faced with those challenges, the states in Western Africa enhanced the level of security, and held meetings to establish the multinational coalition forces in Western Africa. At the same time, they asked the international community for help. Nevertheless, the immortality of the long suppressed of Boko Haram worries the government in Western Africa.From my point of view,building a west African security mechanism is a necessity.Under such a security mechanism, a counter-terrorism should be established, and a series of anti-terrorism tactics should be formulated. Furthermore, to strengthen the prevention and the intiative of the management after the riots are also very important.The prevailing of Boko Haram reflects the situation of terrorism arising in Africa, especially affects the regional security in Western Africa. To resolve this issue, it needs the cooperation between Nigeria, west Africa and international community.
