The Translation Study Of Idiom In Russian Version Of "The Song Of Everlasting Sorrow" From The Perspective Of Memes Of Translation

The Song of Everlasting Sorrow,written by Chinese contemporary authoress Wang Anyi,won the fifth Mao Dun Literary Prize.Featuring large space construction,long time process and abundant character activities,this novel narrates the history,portrays women and appreciates the culture of Shanghai.Professor in Muscovite University translated The Song of Everlasting Sorrow into the Russian version ????? ? ??????????? ?????,which was published in 2013 in St Petersburg.At present,there is no researches on the Russian version of The Song of Everlasting Sorrow at home.In this paper,based on the theory of Memes of Translation and the method of close reading,the author will select the original idioms and their Russian translation as the specific samples,and then will go into how the memes are transmitted in cross-cultural situations.The introduction will present the topic significance,and the research status of Memes of Translation,The Song of Everlasting Sorrow and idioms at home and abroad.In addition,the summarization method and systematic analysis method will be introduced.The chapter one mainly expounds the concept and classification of memes,Chesterman's point of view on Memes of Translation and the concept of translation and translation norms.Moreover from the perspective of Memes of Translation,the language information model for interdisciplinary translation process,and the two ways of memes transmission including the way of memetic genotype and memetic phenotype will be also mainly explained.The chapter two will analyze the idiom translations from the angle of translation memes theory.On one hand,from the form of memetic genotype,the Chinese idioms are transformed into Russian version by applyingimitation and transliteration methods.On the other hand,from the form of memetic phenotype,the Chinese idiom translations will be discussed by alternative,interpretation and decoloration methods.The chapter three from the strong and the weak die because of the Angle of view,the Russian translation of idioms in weak memes examples as well as the causes of the strong and weak memes will be analyzed from the view of strong and weak memes theory.The conclusion summarizes the evaluation of translating the idioms of The Song of Everlasting Sorrow in Russian.The translator ?.?.???????takes different forms in translating Chinese idioms,making the memes spread smoothly,have the complete life cycle and then get the renewal of life.However because of different deep cultural origin,language structure and way of thinking,the idioms can be translated inappropriately and unfaithfully,which affects the target readers' understanding and acceptance of source idioms,and eventually leads to the failure of the idioms memes transmission.Therefore the translators should adopt diverse translation methods and analyze the source idioms in multi-levels in order to achieve the most faithful translations.Further the idioms can be reproduced and transmitted more smoothly in the target language with endless vitality.
