A Study On Narrative Pattern In A Novel The Song Of Everlasting Sorrow By Wang Anyi

Through the description of the alley girl's life, the Novel "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow", which written by Wang Anyi, reflects the change of Shanghai in 40 years. In the novel, Wang Anyi show the true face of life to readers in description of the history of Shanghai, and explore the transformation of Shanghai in the discussion of the significance of individual life. This paper will analysis the narrative pattern of "The Song of Everlasting Sorrow" from three aspects which include narrative discourse, narrative structure and narrative language. In terms of narrative discourse, the thesis will mainly analysis narrative perspective, feminine narrative and narrative voice. By analyzing time structure, spatial structure and character structure of the Greimas symbol matrix mode, narrative structure will be completed. Narrative language will mainly analyzes novel language abstraction and language unfamiliar. Thesis will primarily focuse on the second part of the text, which is the analysis of narrative structure. In terms of narrative structure, this papper will mainly focuse on analyse the characters structure of the text in Greimas symbol matrix theory, and explore the deep structure and significance of the novel in the analysis of the surface characters structure.
