Although Jiang Ge and Iliad appeared in different ages and different regions, they belonged to heroic epics.Heroic epic is the product of patriarchal clan society developing to a certain stage. This primitive literary and cultural genre,on the one hand, combines many myths and legends,on the other hand, the process of war, marital status and the state of tribal alliance in the birth of the clan society are also presented in the epic.Because the scenes described by the two epics occur in an important period of turning and changing of their respective tribes or nationalities, the society at that time is also in a turbulent period of change,so the Mongolia epic "jiangge" and Homer's epic "illite" all involve the depiction of war, marriage and alliance, that is,war,The description of the three motif of marriage and association. This thesis first expounds the possibility and significance of the metaphorical study of the epic motif, respectively from the meaning of metaphor, the difference between the epic metaphor and other metaphors, and the three aspects of the study of the possibility and significance of the metaphorical metaphor of the epic of "jiangger" and "elyat".Compare and extract metaphors for each motif in each epic.Through the analysis of the two epics,we find out the three common motif in the epic, namely, justice, marriage and war.Find the epic descriptive paragraphs corresponding to the motif, and compare the different emphases of the two epics in describing the same motif, and dig out the metaphors. In the "jiangge",the knot theme is metaphorical for alliance, the marriage motif is metaphorical or conquered and conquered. The war motif metaphor suggests that the ancestors want to conquer and remould their natural psychology. In elyat, the knot theme is a metaphor for the conflict between the individual interests and the collective interests. The marriage motif has metaphored the decline of the status of women. The theme of the war metaphor has metaphored the importance of ancient Greece to the individual life value and the consciousness of individual standard. Finally, this paper finds out the reasons for different metaphors in the description of the same motif in "jiangge" and "illite",that is,the historical background of the two nation and the difference of national consciousness. When the epic came into being, the Mongolian people were in the period of feudal separatist, the ancient Greeks were in the period of Mycenae civilization, and the Mongolian had a strong collective.Consciousness, and the ancient Greek people attach importance to individual consciousness.Through the study of the historical background and national consciousness of the two epics,we find the reasons for the different metaphors in the description of the same motif in the "jiangge" and the elyat,as well as the literary and cultural connotations of the two epics.
