The thesis studies the crown of the mono Bodhisattva unearthed in Qingzhou,Shandong in Northern Qi Dynasty,Yecheng in Hebei,and Nannieshui in Shanxi.The three places are chosen for the geographic proximity.In the Northern Dynasties,Yecheng and Qingzhou were the center of Buddhist activities,and the development of Buddhism was quite popular,while Qinxian County was in the territory of Bingzhou,in Northern Qi Dynasty,the emperors came to visit the two cities for many times,and would have brought some cultural communication and interaction.From the unearthed data,the statues are similar and unique.With closer observation,there will be some patterns.In order to study the crown of mono Bodhisattva in late Northern Dynasties from many aspects,the thesis will start with the following aspects,first of all the author will conduct a field trip in the three areas,have an in-depth understanding and observation of the details and methods of wearing the crowns of mono Bodhisattva,through sorting and analysis,the author will generalize the similarities and differences between the types and styles of the crown of mono Bodhisattva in the three areas of Shandong,Hebei and Shanxi.Through the sorting of the styles of the crown of Bodhisattva in the Cave Temples.The author finds out many similarities between the style of mono Bodhisattva in Maijishan Grottos,YunGang Grottos,Longmen Grottos,Gongxian Grottos,Mount Xiangtang Grottos,In particular,YunGang Grotto,Longmen Grotto and Gongxian Grottos built with Royal investment,have huge influence on the monomeric statutes in the three regions.Although the styles of the Bodhisattva crowns in the three regions are similar,they are also widely different,except for objective elements such as historical background,the greatest possibility is the different materials used in the three regions,meanwhile,the differences also have the most direct relationship with the local traditional culture.Based on this thinking,the thesis uses data such as historical documents,Buddhist scriptures,grottoes,and unearthed archaeological data,in the research methodology,the author considers the style and data as well as the influence of foreign styles,craftsmen and local style and the characteristic of the time,so as to have a comprehensive study of the crown of mono Bodhisattva in Wei Dynasty and Northern Qi Dynasty.
