A Report On The Interpreting Of Two Lectures About Petroleum

The development of petroleum industry makes the petroleum English an important subject,and making research based on this subject is necessary from the view of economic globalization and the importance of petroleum energy.The two lectures selected,delivered by Professor Zhao Dongfeng are about the treatment process and environmental impact of oil extraction and the processing of oil and gas in oil field.After completing interpreting simulation of the materials,the author made deep reflection on the interpreting process,the problems encountered and their solutions adopted and writing this report with the combination of Interpretive Theory.This interpreting practice report includes task description,process description,interpretation evaluation,case analysis and conclusion.By analyzing various problems such as disfluency,mistranslation,pretermission,information loss and etc arising from the interpreting simulation process,the author has evaluated the performance of interpreting simulation in the report.The method of improving interpreting skill and interpreting ability was also summarized in the report.The author wishes to guide the interpreting study and interpreting practice through reflecting the interpreting process and hopes that the analysis and explanations will offer some experiences to the research in this field.
