A Study Of Some Quasi-idioms Containing The Word "Yisi"

In this thesis,the structures related to �yisi� are taken as the research object.Firstly,the meaning of �yisi� is analyzed.Then,the appearance,components,semantics and pragmatic functions of the class-fixed structures containing �yisi� are focused on.Lastly,combining with the theory of concept integration,the author discusses the integration degree of these structures.There are six parts in this thesis:Chapter one introduces the significance,research status,theoretical background,research methods of this thesis and sources of the corpus.Chapter two analyzes the meaning of �yisi� and combs the relationship between its senses.�yisi� derives multiple senses on the basis of its original meaning,which all together form its semantic category.This chapter also discusses the meaning of �yisi� in several types of class-fixed structures.Through analysis,it is found that the meaning of �yisi� in class-fixed structures is not equivalent to its senses in the dictionary.Therefore,attention must be paid to the structures themselves in order to understand and master these class-fixed structures.Chapter three analyzes in detail the components,semantics,and pragmatic functions of the class-fixed structures with the word �yisi� in relation to affirmation and negation,and the connections and differences between these class-fixed structures.Chapter four analyzes the class-fixed structure with �yisi� that does not have anegative counterpart,including the components,semantics and pragmatic functions of �xiao yisi�,�yisi yisi�,and �yisi yixia�.On this basis,the semantic relationship between the three structures is also analyzed.Chapter five analyzes the integration degree of the class-fixed structures with �yisi� through employing relevant theories in cognitive linguistics.In this chapter,class-fixed structures with �yisi� are divided into three levels: those with high integration degree,those with medium integration degree,and those with low integration degree.After analysis,it has been found that the class-fixed structures containing the word �yisi� with a high degree of integration account for a large proportion.These class-fixed structures with high integration degree have been fixed and become common structures in modern Chinese.Some structures have already been included in the Modern Chinese Dictionary.Chapter six is the conclusion.This chapter summarizes the contents of the previous chapters,points out the innovations of this thesis,and analyzes problems to be solved.
